Over four years ago I had the opportunity to hear Janis Avery, Treehouse Executive Director, speak at a Junior League of Seattle meeting. I later had a chance to visit with her personally and learn more about Treehouse and the wonderful things they do for foster children. Janis talked about the kids that Treehouse serves and the things they do to make a difference in the lives of foster children. I immediately felt a strong personal connection to Treehouse and their mission. I too, was a foster child before being adopted by my loving family. After talking with Janis and learning more about Treehouse, I felt a strong desire to do something to support Treehouse and their mission. I have designed and created jewelry that I believe captures the essence of their work.
